Next-Level Quad-Brid Driver Setup:-
AFUL Performer 8S is a step above the previous IEMs in the Performer series. Instead of a traditional DD+BA arrangement, we have a quad-brid setup here on the P8S. Each side is equipped with 9 drivers including one dynamic driver, six high-performance balanced armature drivers, one micro-planar driver, and a dedicated passive radiator driver. This PR driver has an adjustable design where users can switch between closed and open modes.
Dual-Mode Bass Tuning Option:-
Unlike the tuning switches or swappable tuning nozzles, the P8S has a unique take on the two-level bass options. The pair has an adjustable passive radiator system where users can use the PR driver in open or closed settings. Closed mode delivers a solid, atmospheric, punchy bass, Open mode packs a deeper, more elastic, and softer bass character. Experience two levels of bass with the P8S.
Patented RLC Network Crossover Technology:-
AFUL’s signature RLC(Resistor, Capacitor, Inductor) crossover technology is implemented to get the best out of the 9-driver setup here on the P8S. The crossover is carefully adjusted to refined the 9-drivers perfectly eliminating resonance peaks and ensuring a smooth, detailed, EST-like treble with wide extensions up to 35kHz.
Advanced RESInator Micro-Resonance Technology:-
To further enhance the crossover design, AFUL has featured their own RESInators micro-resonance technology on the P8S. This tech uses ultra-precise 3D-printed micro-resonant channels that correct the non-ideal driver behavior and matches their performance across the frequency band ensuring a highly-coherent sound profile. This significantly improves the overall performance of the set, delivering high-resolution clarity across a wide frequency band.
Premium Aesthetics Inspired by “Echoes of Jupiter”:-
AFUL has taken design inspiration from “Echoes of Jupiter”, the faceplates feature the swirling storms and cloud bands on the Jupiter’s North Pole. The pair is crafted using medical-grade resin material using high-precision 3D printing technology. The pair is not just visually stunning, but also optimized for great wearing comfort.
Premium-Quality Stock Cable:-
AFUL bundles the Performer8S with a high-purity stock cable. It’s a 6-strand, 392-core cable made up of silver-plated 4N single-crystal Copper and single-crystal copper material wire conductors. The cable features 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and is available in 3.5mm or 4.4mm termination plug options.

Q1: Which version represents the standard sound?
A1: The sound with the passive driver closed is considered the standard sound. It is the reference tuning for the P8 upgrade.
Q2: How does the sound change when the passive driver is activated?
A2: Activating the passive driver adds an optional, more entertaining sound signature. It enhances symphonic music, deepens bass, and noticeably boosts impact, somewhat like a supercharged version of the IE900.
Q3: What if the adhesive on the residue-free stickers loses its stickiness?
A3: We include 10 pairs of replacement no-mark stickers in the package. If you find the stickers inconvenient, you can also use the silicone plugs interchangeably.
Q4:Does the RLC network crossover eliminate the typical BA timbre?
A4: Yes. By directly regulating each driver’s operating frequency range, the RLC network effectively suppresses resonance-induced peaks, especially in the high frequencies, allowing balanced armature drivers to deliver a smoother, more natural, electrostatic-like treble response.
Q5: Will blocking the tuning port cause ear pressure?
A5: No. Performer 8S features a dual-vent design. The bass tuning vent is for low-frequency tuning, while a separate top pressure-relief vent with internal damping balances air pressure between the shell and ear canal and also fine-tunes the bass. Since they are independent acoustic paths, blocking the tuning vent won’t increase ear pressure. It will only affect bass response.
